Santa!!

Santa came to Finn's Kindy today for their Christmas party. Finn thought he was okay but prefered the yummy treats afterwards. Mikko was very unimpressed with Santa!

The blue lagoon

Well not quite but blue anyway! The boys like it when we make coloured baths. I just use a little bit of food colouring. Be careful not to use too much though or you'll end up with a blue bathtub and smurfs for kids!

Our Christmas Tree

We always have a 'real' Christmas tree at home and this year is no different. However this year we got our tree from Grandma and Grandpa's place :)

Our fun weekend!

On Friday Colin picked up some 2ndhand bunks that we got on trademe.co.nz . The idea is that now we have a spare bed so a babysitter can stay the night and Colin and I can go out sometime! - hahaha

On Sunday we took a trip to the zoo. Finn loved it and rushed around naming all the animals.

Toilet-training???

Maybe? I am not sure! I don't know that Finn is 100% ready to try but we're going to give it a ago anyway. He has a new potty and we got 2 wees on it yesterday and 3 today. This evening he told me he wanted to do wees on the potty so that was great! Can't wait to have just 1 in nappies - 2 in nappies is A LOT of washing!

Mikko has a new favourite passtime - riding in the red car! He and Finn have had a ball this weekend riding out on the deck together.

Finn's first haircut

Yes Finn finally had his first haircut today courtesy of Auntie Fredericka. He was very good and sat still most of the time ;)

It goes so fast....

Seems like wee Mikko was just born into our family not long ago and today Finn and I went to get him up from his morning nap and he was standing up waiting for us! He also just mastered moving to sitting up from lying down :)

Today the two boys were playing in Finn's room. It had all gone a bit quiet and when I went to check on them they were both lying on the floor eating ricies!

Helping Daddy in the Garden

It isn't the best of weather this long weekend but Colin has braved the element anyway to get some planting done. We bought some large Agave Attentutas (sp?) off Trademe.co.nz (my favourite shopping place!) a week or so ago. Finn is Daddy's little helper in the garden. Mikko would like to get out there too but seems to tumble over too much still at the moment. By Christmas he'll be out helping too!

paddlin' time

The other day it was nice enough to drag out the paddling pool and have some splash time for the boys. They love it! Finn starts back at swimming lessons this Saturday so is looking forward to that too. They are both such waterbabies!

The bigger boys

When Colin comes home from work it is ruff'n'tumble time with Finn. Finn gets rather carried away and it often ends in tears but they do have a lot of fun!

It really feels like Spring has sprung now and we have just enjoyed a lovely sunny weekend together.

The boys and I LOVE it when Colin is home, not only is it great to have a helping hand but we also tend to do more fun activites. This weekend we finally got Finn's trampoline up (yay another way to wear him out) and started doing some planting along our back fenceline.

We also went to the local indoor pools on Saturday. Finn, who is smack in the middle of the terrible twos, had a tantrum about getting into his togs and then another tantrum when it was time to get out of them!!! It was Mikko's first time swimming and he loved it! Next time I will get some pictures at the pools.

Mikko is really starting to enjoy eating too which is great cos he is rather a lightweight at the moment so hopefully he'll start to fatten up soon :) Check him out in his new highchair!

Our Playgroup

The boys and I have joined a local playgroup that we go to on Friday mornings. This morning was the end of term so it was dress ups! Finn was a dashing Superman and Mikko a cute animal :)

This afternoon Finn was busy playing with our homemade playdough!

Colin hired an exersaucer for Mikko. We hired one when Finn was little too and they are great. You can tell by Mikko's expression that he seems to quite like it ;)

Our little Mover

Well Mikko isn't quite crawling but very close. he is moving around a lot though through rolling and shuffling forward commando style. He is also sitting very well now though we do put cushions behind him in case of tumbles. A friend has been scaring me telling me that her son who crawled at 7 months was walking by 10 months!!!

Finn and Mikko get on great together which makes things easier for me! Here they are playing together and also a a shot of Finn as a fairy. You can also see in the pictures that Mikko is very close to crawling!
