Enjoying Spring

I haven't posted in a while as we have been busy getting out and about and enjoying the beautiful world we live in.
The boys seem to finally have seen the last of the Winter bugs (touch wood!). And the weather, though changeable, has given us some beautiful days.

One of Mikko's favourite things to do is go to a beach/river/puddle and throw stones in. Last week we went to the beach after preschool several times and the boys had a great time!

We have MAJORLY cut back on TV time for Mikko. Mikko just loves TV and he is so happy and relaxed when it is on. He bounds around, chatters away and shrieks with joy. BUT when it goes off he is miserable and just pretty much cries or screams for it to come back on. So the week before last I turned it off on Friday midday and didn't put it back on till Tues 1pm. Since then I have had a lot more success with using it sparingly to give both Mikko and I a break. He's been really good. He's doing a lot more, asking for TV less and when he does ask and I say no he is a million times better about it!

Catch ya later!

Life's a picnic

well Father's day was a picnic this year anyway!
We (me the hubby and our boys, sis and bro-in-law and their boys, bro, and Grandpa) decided to have a BBQ picnic at Wenderholm and despite being rather chilly it was great fun.

Mini break in the deep South

Finn and I won flights to Dunedin thanks to More FM and Jetstar. So early yesterday morning we set off.

Finn loved the flights and has now decided he'd like to me a pilot/flag collector when he grows up.

When I asked Finn what he wanted to do in Dunedin out of a train ride, a castle visit or the chocolate factory his answer came without hesitation. Choclate factory!!!!!! I told him he'd have to be careful not to fall in the chocolate river like Augustus Gloop and I said "No, I am Charlie the good boy!".
The chocolate factory is Cadbury World and is definitely worth a visit if you are in Dunedin. Finn was the only child on our tour and was suitably rewarded.

We also visited the Otago Museum which was absolutely fantastic fun.
Finn is obsessed with flags at the moment.

We walked so much and Finn did so well. Dunedin has some lovely sights and we definitely want to go back with Colin, Mikko and Kasper.

This was my first time leaving the little boys and Colin did a great job looking after them. Mikko was thrilled to see me back this afternoon, Kasper didn't seem to notice I had gone!
